Riya Saira Biography

Riya Saira is a noted actress and dubbing artist associated with Malayalam cinema since year 2012. She was seen in the movies - Theevram, Shutter, Mili, Chapters, Oru Indian Pranayakadha etc in supporting roles. She made her debut in 2012 through the female character oriented thriller film 22 Female Kottayam. Though Aashiq Abu’s 22 Female Kottayam was her first theatric release, she earlier worked in Joy Mathew's debut movie as a director, Shutter. In fact the director spotted her first in the film sets of Shutter, and casted for his next film. Riya is also a dubbing artist by profession.

Riya Saira was born on 26 November 1992. She started her debut with 22 Female Kottayam in 2012, and her first signed project, Shutter was released in 2013. She played Reema Kallingal’s sister in her debut film. Prior to the release of Shutter, a few more movies such as Theevram and Chapters got released. She carries two job roles hand in hand – acting career and dubbing, and earned success in both these fields. She earned recognition for playing Lal’s daughter, Nyla in the film, who has a strained relationship with her father for pursuing higher studies. Her character also plays a pivot role in film’s climax.

Her mother Saira is a dubbing artist, who supports her daughter in her career. Riya is a good singer too. In Sathyan Anthikad’s Puthiya Theerangal movie released in 2012, Riya dubbed for the female lead Namitha Pramod who talks in fisher woman slang. She also dubbed for the lead heroine – a modern girl for the movie, Cinema Company. These two characters are contrast to one another. She completed her graduation at Trikkarkara Bharathmatha college, and while doing graduation worked as a dubbing artist for a series of Malayalam movies, including Cinema Company & Puthiya Theerangal.
