Ritika Singh Biography
Ritika Singh is a newcomer to Bollywood films, who made her film entry through Saala Khadoos (2016) alongside Madhavan, which received positive reviews from critics and audience. The movie is also released in Tamil titled - Irudhi Suttru. R. Madhavan played the leading role as a boxing coach while Ritika Singh as an aspiring boxer. Prior to her entry in films, Ritika is a mixed martial artist who has represented India at 2009 Asian Indoor Games and Super Fight League. She is also a kick boxer.
Her full name is Ritika Mohan Singh, born in Mumbai in 1994. She trained in kickboxing and martial arts under her father. In 2009 Asian Indoor Games, she debut in the 52kg kick boxing category competition. Later she participated as a mixed martial artist in the inaugural season of the Super Fight League, though couldn’t able to make much gains in both these competitions.
She was spotted by director Sudha Kongara Prasad in 2013 in an ad of Super Fight League and she was called for an audition. Sudha was in search for the lead actress, a world class boxer for her debut movie as a director - Saala Khadoos. Ritika eventually landed into the protagonist’s role, which she never dreamt of. Since early childhood she was crazy about martial arts. At the age of three, she started learning karate. She never watched films too much. She accepted the movie solely because she loved its film script. She was given regular practices for boxing, as a part of the film and in the climax she had to take on a real boxer. She learnt Tamil dialogues bi-heart for shooting its Tamil version.
