Ritesh Sidhwani Biography

Ritesh Sidhwani is a famous Bollywood film maker known for producing super hit movies like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Don, Don 2, Talaash, Rock on, Fukrey, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Dil chahta hai and Lakshya. He is one of the most successful Bollywood producers of the recent times, known for making both low-budget as well as big-budget movies. Many of his movies have earned critical acclaims and have won numerous awards as well. He is also known as a creative director. Don: The Chase Begins Again, the remake of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don is one of the best works.

 

He is the co-founder of production house - Excel Entertainment Pvt. Ltd alongside Farhan Akhtar. He is a close friend of Farhan Akhtar and all the impressive movies of Farhan as an actor are produced by Ritesh. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Karthik calling Karthik, Luck By Chance and Rock on are the best instances which showed Farhan to be a talented actor, apart from a talented director. In fact, Farhan made his direction debut through trendsetter movie of 2001 – Dil Chahta Hai, produced by Ritesh. His second movie Lakshya was also released under this banner.

 

Ritesh was born in Mumbai in 1973 to a Sindhi business family. He has 2 siblings and both are associated with business. He is married to Dolly Sidhwani, and has 2 sons. He was associated with family business during his early years. His education was completed at Mumbai itself. In association with Farhan Akhtar, he started production house Excel Entertainment, which released its first movie ‘Dil chahta hai’ in 2001. ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ is one of the finest movies produced under this banner known for its inspirational theme. Low budget movie – Fukrey is the recent hit.
