Rishika Singh Biography

Rishika Singh is a noted actress associated with Kannada film industry. She is born into a filmy family with three generations being into films. She is the daughter of noted film producer and director Rajendra Singh Babu. Noted south Indian actor Aditya is her brother. She is the grandson of Mysore based film producer Shankar Singh and former Bengali actress Pratima Devi. Her aunt is married to actor Jai Jagdish. She is the niece of Sangram Singh and Vijayalakshmi Singh. She was last seen in an item song for the movie – Maanikya.

Her real name is Rohini Singh. She was born in Bangalore. As many of her family members are associated with film industry, she too tried her luck in the entertainment world. She completed her graduation from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She made films debut with 2011 Kannada-language film Kanteerava. She played the female lead in the film and shared screen space with Duniya Vijay and Shuba Poonja. Same year she was featured in the film, Kalla Malla Sulla directed by Udaya Prakash. The film included an ensemble star cast of V. Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Ragini Dwivedi and Vijay Raghavendra. The movie was a remake of Tamil comedy film – Charlie Chaplin.

She gained recognition through the talk show she hosted on ZEE Kannada in 2012. The show was titled Ragale with Rishika, through which she interacted film personalities of Kannada film industry. She also participated in the reality TV show Bigg Boss - first season though she got evicted. She came to spotlight when she filed a complaint against director S.K. Basheed for allegedly uploading her morphed obscene video clip on a social website as a part of the promotion of her flick - Benki Birugaali. She claimed that it was not she in the video clip.
