Rishi Vohra Biography

Rishi Vohra is an Indian writer from Mumbai who writes English novels. Once Upon the Tracks of Mumbai and HiFi in Bollywood are his major works. Apart from writing, he is also associated with ad-world, television shows and films. He has also shot many music videos, the most notable ones being Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai sung by Kamaal Khan and Aaja Nindiya from Aatma (Bollywood movie). He directed a television show Chehre Pe Chehra, and has also worked as a producer for Sony Entertainment Television. In the late 1990s he worked as an assistant director in Bollywood film industry.

Rishi Vohra was born in Mumbai. He grew up in the same city, where he schooled from Bombay Scottish School. For higher studies, he moved to US. He took an Associate of Arts degree from Film from Scottsdale Community College in Scottsdale, Arizona and then returned back to India. He started a career in the field of entertainment, worked for many years and then moved back to US to do his Business Management studies. He also took a Masters Diploma in Environmental Law from WWF.

When he came back from Arizona, he started his professional career with ad world. He worked with some of renowned brands of the country during this period. He also worked as an Assistant director under filmmakers Sohail Khan and Shimit Amin in the late 1990s and early 2000s. As a writer he is best known for the work - Once Upon the Tracks of Mumbai, which was long listed for the Crossword Book Award (2013). The book also received an Honorable Mention at the Hollywood Book Festival held in Los Angeles.
