Rishabh Shukla Biography

Rishabh Shukla is a film and television actor and a voice-dubbing artist associated with Hindi entertainment industry. He is mainly associated with live action Hollywood films and animation series as a dubbing artist. He is the voice of Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter series. As a television actor, he is best known for essaying the role of King Shantanu in Doordarshan’s iconic mythology series, Mahabharat aired during 1988–1990. Shukla has also worked with many leading stars of film industry, and has appeared in character roles. In different roles of film actor, television personality and voice actor, he achieved success through dubbing.

He was born in Lucknow, UP on 20 August 1966. Kanpur is his hometown. He came to Mumbai 37 years ago to try his luck in entertainment industry. He was the perennially lovesick, romantic King Shantanu in BR Chopra's Mahabharata, a series quite nostalgic for kids and elders of late 1980s. He was only in his early 20s when he portrayed the most memorable role of his acting career. In the mega mythological series’ second innings, he played Lord Krishna. He did dubbing work in parallel with acting career and he has been a part of several theatre plays and movies as well, apart from television.

As a dubbing artist, he got associated with Harry Porter series since Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire. By that time, he had already completed 25 years in dubbing field. “Tum bewakoof ho. Harry aur tum sab kuch kho doge” is his most favourite dialogue from the dubbed version of the movie. He has been frequently associated with B. R. Chopra’s television series since Mahabharat happened. Kanoon, Chunni, Sauda etc are some among them. He played character roles in most of the shows. He played lead role aside Shabana Azmi in Anupama series.
