Rinku Rajguru Biography

Rinku Rajguru is a budding actress associated with Marathi cinema, who played the female protagonist in the Marathi blockbuster – Sairaj. The movie marked her acting debut at the age of only 14. She won a special mention at the 63rd National Film Awards for her performance in the film. The movie also became the first film made in Marathi language to cross 100 crore collections at box office, and is the highest grosser Marathi film up-to-date. The movie was made on a very moderate budget of 4 crores and was released on 29 April 2016. The romantic movie directed by Nagraj Manjule was selected for the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.

 

Though known for her unconventional looks, Rinku surprised everyone for her stunning performance in the film and her performance was hailed by film critics. Earlier critics were doubted for casting her in the film. She also received a special mention at National film awards for the central character Archi she played in the film. Rinku was paired with Akash Thosar for this film. The movie is now to be remade to all south Indian languages and Hindi. Though there were reports that movie’s lead pair received additional 4 crores after the big success of the movie, Rinku denied the news. She is happy that she is being identified by people and she also gets opportunity to visit big cities.

 

Rinku made her film debut in 2016 while she was studying in class 10 at the age of 14. Akluj village in Solapur is her hometown. She was born on June 3, 2001. For Rinku education is as serious as her film career, and she wants to do both. Currently her parents take her financial decision. After the huge success of 'Sairat', Rinku is yet to decide on her future projects.
