Richa Maheshwari Biography

Richa Maheshwari is a young and successful fashion photographer based in Delhi. She is a leading woman photographer of present times. She had been awarded for Documentary and film-making, First prize in jury category of Creating Happiness which was organised by Vedanta, Awards in Photography category. She is a gold medallist in communication design. Apart from fashion photography, specialised in creative photography, art photography, interiors, high speed photography, catalogue photography, travel and portraits.

Richa Maheshwari was born on 23 September in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. She started practicing fashion photography and short film making commercially after college. She studied Fashion Communication at the very prestigious NIFT, and started practicing fashion photography. She was fascinated to walk the ramp like the models of Rohit Bal and Manish Arora during her early years in fashion institute. But very soon she realized that her real strength lies in communicating art and design through a different medium of expression. She started experimenting and photography. Her first personal DSLR was the mighty Nikon D60 and her talent of capturing fashion and art was spotted by a professor who encouraged her to take freelancing.

Later she set up her own studio, Richa Maheshwari Film & Photography. She is currently based in Delhi, and has created portfolios for many fashion models. She launched the Anical 2015, and also Anical, an animal welfare calendar which motivated to bring a fashionable twist to the sad state of animals. Maheshwari launched another calendar "Silencing the Dark" along with Lala Textiles from Pakistan. The campaign, Silencing the Dark focused on blindness awareness and sad state of visually impaired in the world. She has been nominated by Hindustan Times Young Woman of the Year awards.
