Rejith Menon Biography

Rejith Menon is an Indian actor who works in Malayalam movies. He made his debut in 2007 through Kamal’s movie – Goal as the leading actor. He received "Asianet Best New Face Award" for this film. Later he concentrated in supporting roles. In the past 6 years he only 7 movies are released – Goal, Up & Down: Mukalil Oralundu, Chapters, Vellathooval, Sevenes, Doctor Love, Innanu Aa Kalyanam and his movies yet to release are Rose Guitarinaal and Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus. He is to debut Tamil with the movie - Ninaithathu Yaaro where he co-stars with Nimisha Suresh.


As name suggests, the movie Goal was based on the story of football. The movie exclusively belongs to a set of teenagers and it tells the story of school students too. Yet this fresh subject was not accepted by audience and the movie flopped at box office. Rejith’s entry to this movie as protagonist was just co-incidental. He went to watch shooting of Kamal’s movie – Karutha Pakshikal when it was shot at his hometown Thrissur. One of the assistants of the movie, Sugith noticed him among the crowd and introduced him to its director – Kamal. Kamal casted him as leading hero in his next movie – Goal. Apart from Kamal, Rejith has worked with I.V. Sasi, Joshiy, Rajasenan and T.K. Rajeevkumar.


In 2009, his second movie in leading role was released. The movie was titled Vellathooval and Nithya Menon played leading role opposite him. This movie tells the friendship story of a boy and a girl. The movie was a flop at box office. But later he appeared in supporting roles only. He has worked with Kunchacko Boban in the movies – Sevens directed by Joshiy and Doctor Love, directed by K.Biju and both these movies were released in the year 2011.

His much awaited project is Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus, where he got opportunity to work with Mammootty. The movie is scheduled to release on Onam, 2013.
