Regina Cassandra Biography

Regina Cassandra is a leading actress of south Indian movies at present. She works in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada movies. Tamil film Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga and Telugu movies, Shiva Manasulo Shruti and Routine Love Story are her most recent noted roles. She started her career as a kid anchor and later moved to films. She has appeared in many commercials as a child model.

Regina started her career at the age of 4. It was for a kids’ channel, Splash where she first worked as an anchor. Her first film, Kanda Naal Mudhal (Tamil) was shot when she was 14. In this movie, she did the role of 21 year old girl and her work was well appreciated. Her second movie was - Azhagiya Asura where she was paired opposite a newcomer Yogi. Though the movie got good reviews, it failed at box office. She resumed her studies and joined Women's Christian College, Chennai from where she did graduation in Psychology. Then she appeared in both movies as well as short films. Short films like Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi, Kaanal Neer and Saturday need special mention.

Her next released movie was Suryakaanti directed by Chaitanya. This Kannada movie got good reviews and was a hit at box office too. Announced Tamil project, Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey got delayed and by this time, Shiva Manasulo Shruti was released in the year 2012. She received nomination for SIIMA Award for Best Female Debutant for this movie. Telugu romantic-comedy, Routine Love Story also became a box office success. Tamil movie, Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga was released in the year 2013 and it was a super hit. This small budget movie was directed by Pandiraj and it starred Sivakarthikeyan, Vimal, Bindu Madhavi and Regina in the lead roles. Upcoming projects of Regina include – Shankara, Un Samayal Arayil, Ulavacharu Biryani, Kotha Janta, Ra Ra Krishnayya and a few more.
