Reenu Mathews Biography

Reenu Mathews is a young successful actress of Malayalam cinema at present, known for playing Mammootty’s wife in her debut movie ‘Emmanuel’ in 2013. She shared screen space with Mammootty for the second time in ‘Praise the Lord’. She was also seen playing Prithviraj’s wife in Sapthamashree Thaskaraha (2014). Lord Livingstone 7000 Kandi (2015) is her latest release where she played female lead opposite Kunchako Boban. Ennum Eppozhum, 5 Sundarikal and Iyobinte Pustakam are her other releases. She is one of the familiar faces of Mollywood at present and known for the portrayal of mostly mature and serious characters on screen.

Reenu is a resident of Kottayam and currently stays in Dubai, UAE.  She is a flight attendant. She is not planning to become full-time actress and has not given up her flight attendant job. She comes to Kerala once a year to do one movie. Before Emmanuel, she was offered a movie. But she didn’t accept the project as she had intense passion to turn an air hostess and achieved her aims soon. A cabin crew with Emirates Airlines, she balances both the careers right now. Her name was referred to Lal Jose by her friend Parvathy; Reenu attended auditions and got her first lead role.

She mostly plays wife’s role on screen and says that she looks older than her age on screen. That’s why directors are approaching her with mature roles. The actress wants to play diverse characters though she has no complaints for receiving wife’s only. She believes that such homely characters remain in the minds of the audience for long. She played Lal’s wife in Iyobinte Pustakam. She is highly selective about her roles. Reenu has earlier done an award-winning telefilm, December Mist with Anoop Menon
