Reema Kagti Biography

Reema Kagti is a successful female director of Bollywood known for the commercial hits - Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. (2006) and Talaash (2012). Reema Kagti has also worked as an actress in Bollywood hit – Rock on (2008) in supporting role. Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd, a soft comedy drama consisted of a multiple star cast of Abhay Deol, Kay Kay Menon, Boman Irani, Shabana Azmi, Minissha Lamba, Raima Sen, Diya Mirza and Ranvir Shorey. The movie is about the honeymoon journey of newly wedded 6 couples for a four-day journey to Goa. Reema tasted success for her second movie as well, when Talaash starring big stars of Bollywood – Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor became a hit at box office. It was the first movie, where Aamir acted in a neo-noir mystery film with a suspense end.

Reema was born in the year 1972 in Guwahati, Assam. Reema completed graduation in English Literature from Sophia College, Mumbai. She later pursued a post graduate diploma in Social Communications Media at the Sophia Polytechnic. Then she worked as an assistant director for many Bollywood movies. She worked with Farhan Akhtar (Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya), Ashutosh Gowariker (Lagaan), Honey Irani (Armaan), and Mira Nair (Vanity Fair), before doing her first movie.

She has assisted both Farhan and Zoya Akhtar in all their films and commercials to date and has a long-term association with Excel Entertainment. Reema has also worked as a screenwriter and story writer for Talaash , Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. She has also worked as Third assistant director for Bombay Boys and Lagaan: Once upon a time in India.
