Ravi Gulati Biography

Ravi Gulati is a social activist based in Delhi. This NGO worker gives free tuition to underprivileged kids, after school time. He holds a professional degree of MBA which he completed from the prestigious IIM, Ahmedabad. He started an NGO, Manzil, along with his mother and Dr. Geeta Chopra, whose branches operate in the slum areas of Delhi. It providing a community and resources for local youth from low-income backgrounds to learn, teach, and gives a new perspective to life and community promoting their creative talents.

 

Ravi Gulati was born in Delhi in the year 1974. His mother’s name is Indira. After completing MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad he started his professional career in corporate sector in Canada. But he returned to India after 8 months and did a course in Environment Education from CEE, Ahmedabad. He did not want to be part of the rat race and that’s why he quit corporate job. During those days, he got involved with Trees for Life, an NGO working with rural Himalayan communities. It was his first stint with social life. Later he started educating poor children of Khan market as a tutor. Though he wanted to work in remote villages, seeing the urgent need of kids he decided to stay in Delhi city. Later he started an NGO, Manzil with diversified aims, mostly related to education.

 

Empowering children from low-income groups through education, Ravi Gulati’s Manzil grooms good citizens for a better tomorrow. He started off with two children and very soon the count reached to 20, and later it branched to a big organization. Gulati, who spearheads Manzil observes that education is important to earn a livelihood, but it gives many other things too, beyond financial stability.
