Ravi Babu Biography

Ravi Babu is an Indian film actor, screenwriter and director of Telugu language. He is the son of Chalapathi Rao, actor of yesterdays. He is known for introducing new faces to Telugu screen and loves to take such challenges with less-experienced actors. He equally handles comedy and thrillers and his talents have received appreciation from critics. He is a niche filmmaker with lot of discipline. He started his career with small negative roles and later moved to direction field. He has also played lead roles and has excelled in roles of a comedian. Now also he appears in supporting roles in Telugu movies. His recent appearances are Prema Oka Maikam, Anthaka Mundu Aa Tarvatha, Swamy Ra Ra, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Gundello Godari.

Ravi Babu started his career as an actor in negative and supporting roles. He started his career as an actor in the late 1990’s. Then he did a film direction course and entered into direction field. He strongly believes that a film personality should have an education background to get success in the industry. He debut as a director in the year 2002 with hit movie, Allari. This movie successfully launched the son of Telugu veteran director and producer EVV Satyanarayana, Naresh. After this movie, Naresh came to be known as Allari Naresh in the industry.

Later he made successful comedy films like Ammailu Abbailu, Soggadu and Party. Not to be type casted as a director of comedy movies only, he made Anasuya, a suspense thriller starring himself and Bhumika Chawla in the lead role. After the success of Anasuya, he directed the love story Nachavule, which also proved hit at box office. Thus Ravi experimented with all genres of commercial cinema.
