Ranjitha Biography

Ranjitha is an Indian film actress who also acted in some television series. She was acting in lead roles in 1990s and was very famous at that time. She has acted in many films of Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu languages. Her original name is Sri Valli.

Ranjitha entered film industry as an actress through the Telugu film Kadapa Reddemma. Her debut film in Tamil was Nadodi Thendral by Bharathiraja in 1992. She played lead roles in the films and married an army officer named Rakesh Menon and has two children. Due to some misunderstandings she has filed a divorce and is pending at the court.

She reentered acting industry in 2001 and started to show her face in supporting roles and also appeared in some television shows. She has acted in almost all the top stars for her era including Arjun, Vijayakanth, Mammootty, Nana Patekar and Prabhu.

During her second innings, she played the role of the mother of actor Vijay in the film Villu. Some of the television series she has acted include Roja, Krishna Dassi and Thekkathi Ponnu. Everyone said that she was not in good terms with her husband and so she returned to acting field again. But she denied this fact saying that she is back into acting with the consent of her husband.

In 2011, she was caught up in the sex scandal with Swami Nithyananda. It is said that she was in love with him and wanted to marry him but when his attention turned towards other women, she was angry and released a video tape of having sex with Nithyananda. However, she filed a complaint at the commissioner office at Chennai that the owner of Sun Network Kalanidhi Maran and some magazines have morphed her figure and telecasted them. Her biography is to be written by one of the devotees of Nithyananda named Amudha Rani.

Some of the films that she has acted include Selvam, Sasanam, Amirtham, Maya Kannadi, Saroja, Villu, Aahaa Ethanai Azhagu, Maayan, Azhagar Malai, Raavanan, Taj Mahal, Pagaivan, Nilavae Unakkaaga, Urimai Por, Naaga Devi, Mustafa, En Aasai Machan, Pondatti Rajyam, Band Master, Maavidhiguru, Oru Yathramozhi, etc.
