Ramdas Padhye Biography 
Ramdas Padhye is an Indian ventriloquist, puppeteer and puppet-maker. His father Yeshwant Keshav Padhye was the pioneering Indian Ventriloquist who started ventriloquism in India in 1920's. Now his son Satyajit Padhye is also popular in this field and has assisted him in several shows and projects. In the past four decades or so, he has conducted around 9000 ventriloquism and puppet shows in India and abroad. His shows regularly appear in Doordarshan since 1972 and he has also developed first Indian website on ventriloquism and puppetry. He was the first Indian ventriloquist to perform ventriloquism and puppet-based shows on NBC, ABC and CBS television in America, and BBC's Channel Four.
Ramdas Padhye learnt this art from his father and he has been regularly presenting puppet shows on Doordarshan since the year of its formation – 1972. His puppets "Ardhavatrao" and "Awadabai" were very popular during 1970’s. He has also hosted several television shows like "Meri Bhi Suno" and "Aap He Sochiye". He, along with his wife Aparna has performed many acts with puppets on Doordarshan doing this period. His puppet named Bunny became popular after the kids’ favourite television ad of Lijjad pappad. Misha is nother popular serial on ZEE Marathi. In 1968, at the age of 23, he performed before the Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi in New Delhi who encouraged him a lot.
He made many puppets with an Indian touch, rather than American and the art of ventriloquism was not popular in India during that time. He has also made puppets on social relevant subjects like Family Planning", "Small Savings", "Child Education", and "Grow more Food”. Many of his puppets have been used in films and music videos. Films like Dil hai tumhara and Mahan to name a few.
