Ram Awana Biography

Ram Awana is a film and television actor who is a part of Hindi entertainment industry. He is a well-established theater artist too. He played supporting and negative roles in Bollywood flicks. His roles in Jungle, Mission Kashmir, Zameen, Lahore, Baaja Ansh: The Deadly Part etc, and earned acclamation. He has also done television roles. A regular figure in television shows, he has done more than 200 TV shows, and some of his noted roles include - Jai Shri Krishna, Dwarkadheesh – Bhagwaan Shree Krishna, Tere Mere Sapne, Life Lafde Aur Bandiyan, Shri Prannathji, It's Complicated: Relationship Ka Naya Status, Sarojini - Ek Nayi Pehal, Crime Patrol, Balika Vadhu, Gutur Gu, Adaalat, CID, Durga etc.

 

Ram was born in Noida on March 1st, 1971. He graduated from GDC, Noida in 1991. By that time he started dreaming about films and acting and to pursue his dreams, he joined Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts to study acting. After that he did Master’s in Dramatic Arts from Bharatendu Academy of Dramatic Arts, winning a gold medal in dramatics. Ram worked in Shri Ram Centre repertory as 'A' grade actor from 1996 to 1998 before pursuing a career in films and television.

 

He started working in television shows since late 1990s, and was first seen in Doordarshan’s Yug in 1999. As a film actor, he marked his debut in year 2000 film, Jungle, and since then he mostly played negative roles onscreen. On mini screen too, he got noticed for grey or negative shaded roles. He played the character of Jwarasur in Durga on Colors, a dacoit in Gutur Gu, King Chhatrasal in Moti Sagar's Shri Prannathji, Raja Paundrik in Dwarkadheesh – Bhagwaan Shree Krishna are some of his interesting shows on mini screen.
