Rakshit Shetty Biography

Rakshit Shetty is an upcoming Kannada actor and director who shot to fame after playing the male protagonist in 2013 blockbuster - 'Simple Agi Ondh Love Story', the movie which brought a breath of fresh air in Kannada cinema in 2013. Ulidavaru Kandante directed by Rakshit Shetty acquired cult classic status in Kannada film industry. Shetty is known for his association with filmmaker Simple Suni and both these movies were produced by Suni. - 'Simple Agi Ondh Love Story' was directed and scripted by Suni too. When big producers hesitated to invest money in this project, Suni made this project with the help of a few friends on a very small budget of approximately 30-40 lakhs. Rakshit Shetty played the lead role and it also witnessed actor Srinagara Kitty playing a cameo role. Shwetha Srivastav was its heroine.

Rakshith first made his debut as a hero in Tughlaq, but the film was a disaster at the box-office. His second film however, Simple Agi Ond Love Story, was a huge hit running in full packed houses for many days and he is now roped in by many producers of the industry for their upcoming projects. Ulidavaru Kandante marked his directorial debut and the movie achieved cult classic status in Kannada cinema. Its trailer went viral over net.  A line from the trailer, ‘Shoot maadbeka’ became a catchy phrase among youth.

This youngster is known for his unique and fresh style of delivering dialogues and quite popular among youth nowadays. He belongs to Udupi, Karnataka. He holds an engineering degree from NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte and had a brief stint in software industry before he switched on to film career.
