Rakshanda Khan Biography

Rakshanda Khan is a well-established television actress, best known for playing negative and grey
shaded roles. She played the female antagonist in the most popular television series of Sony TV, Mallika 
Seth in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin, which proved to be her major career breakthrough. Tanya Virani in Kyunki 
Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Isha Singhania in Bade ache lagte hain and Roshni Chopra in Kasamh Se 
cemented her position as one of the best negative shaded character artists of Indian small screen in the 
recent times. She married her co-actor Sachin Tyagi in 2014 at the age of 40.

She was born on September 27, 1974 in Mumbai. She is the only girl among the four siblings. She 
schooled at Alexandra Girls English Institute and completed graduation from St Xavier's College, Mumbai 
in 1995. Rakshanda is a former model before entering the world of television. She is married to actor 
Sachin Tyagi and they got married most recently in March 2014. They met on the sets of a dance reality 
show - Kabhi Kabhii Pyaar Kabhi Kabhii Yaar in 2008, the show hosted by her and tied the knot in 2014 
after 6 long years of courtship. It was Sachin’s second marriage and he has 2 daughters from his first 
marriage. Rakshanda had a relationship with filmmaker Sajid Khan, a decade ago. 

This actress became popular through Ekta Kapoor's television serials, where she mostly appears in 
negative roles. She shot to fame playing Mallika Seth in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin. Mona Singh, who played 
Jassi in this series is a close friend of Rakshanda. She has also hosted television shows like Jodi Kamaal Ki and Indian Idol 2.
