Rajiv Satav Biography

Rajiv Satav is an Indian politician from Maharashtra. He currently serves as a Member of Parliament representing Hingoli in Maharashtra, defeating Shivsena leader, Subhash Wankhede, an MLA of three terms. Rajiv is a member of Indian National Congress, and currently serves as All India Congress Committee (AICC) in charge for Gujarat. Earlier he served as AICC Secretary in charge for Saurashtra. Rajiv remains a very popular MP of present Lok Sabha, who has won Sansad Ratna Award twice consecutively. The honour is given to the top performing Indian MPs. He is often referred to as ‘a voice with clarity’ in the parliament, who has actively participated in debates and represented his party for the clarification of bills, and other responses.

Rajiv Satav was born on 21 September 1974 in Maharashtra. He joined active politics during his college days in the early 1990s, and remained a trusted member of Indian National Congress, throughout the years. As an active youth member of the party, he participated in different events held by the party since 1993. Later he became Youth Congress President, and gave immense contributions to regional politics as a youth leader.

Rajeev Satav was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 from Hingoli constituency in Maharashtra. It was for the first time, he contested in Lok Sabha elections, and he won it. He defeated senior Shiv Sena leader Subhash Wankhede, who has been a member of state assembly for three terms. Rajeev Satav remained one of the popular MPs during his first term in Lok Sabha. He has raised important issues pertaining to Hingoli constituency and also Maharashtra state, whenever it was required. Most recently he was conferred with Bharat Asmita Jana Pratinidhi Shreshtha award in 2018.
