Rajiv Malhotra Biography

Rajiv Malhotra is an Indian-American author from New Delhi. He is a public intellectual who founded the Infinity Foundation after his retirement from IT sector in 1995. His organization mainly focuses on focuses on Indic studies, apart from a few more activities like funding to translate the Tibetan Buddhist Tengyur. He promotes a non-western and nationalistic view on India and Hinduism, and has published many of his findings regarding this subject. He co-authored the English non-fiction book Breaking India: Western Interventions in Dravidian and Dalit Faultlines with Aravindan Neelakandan which was a bestseller of 2010. Through this non-fiction work, the writers argue that India's integrity is being undermined by the support of western institutions for the Dravidian movement and Dalit identity.

Rajiv Malhotra hails from Delhi, India. He was born on 15 September 1950. After completing his graduation in Physics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, he moved abroad and studied computer science at Syracuse University. He was associated with IT sector till 1994 and took a retirement at the age of 44. He was associated with computer and telecom industries. He established Infinity Foundation in Princeton, New Jersey the following year. Infinity Foundation promotes Indic studies, and till now it has given more than 400 grants for research, education and community work. Swadeshi Indology Conferences and Tibetan Buddhist tengyur are next top priorities.

He is an author of non-fiction work. As an author he rose to prominence in the early 2010s and some of his noted works include - Being Different (2011), Breaking India (2010), Indra's Net (2014), The Battle for Sanskrit (2016) and Academic Hinduphobia (2016). Malhotra regularly speaks at Indian and international fora, universities and events, and publishes many of his videos online.
