Rajesh Tailang Biography

Rajesh Tailang is an Indian film actor and dialogue writer who predominantly works in Bollywood films. He mostly plays supporting roles on screen. He played lead role of Mahendra Saini in the internationally acclaimed 2013 film, Siddharth. The film was directed by Richie Mehta, a Canadian film director and writer of Indian origin who has earlier given award winning films like Amal. He is associated with Bollywood since 1998, playing the supporting role of Somu’s father in National award film, Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa. He was most recently seen in Bollywood flick, Aiyaary directed by Neeraj Pandey, and also Haseena Parkar and Mukkabaaz.

 

Rajesh Tailang has appeared in more than a dozen of Bollywood films in the past two decades and has remained a seasonal actor. He has also done a few short films. Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa, Dev, Thakshak, Amal and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel etc are some of his early works in Hindi cinema. He later appeared in Haseena Parkar, Aiyaary and Mukkabaaz. Currently he is seen more busy in films, and was indeed very excited to work to award winning director, Anurag Kashyap. He is almost a permanent fix of Richie Mehta’s films. In fact he gave him the big break through Siddharth where he was offered a lead role. It was for the first time Rajesh did a full-length lead role in movies.

 

Rajesh Tailang entered entertainment industry in the mid-1990s through television. He was first seen in India’s first soap Shanti, aired on Doordarshan since 1994. His role in Shanti earned him film roles. Besides working as an actor, he also writes dialogues and also pens beautiful poems.
