Rajan Batra Biography

Rajan Batra is a film producer and distributor associated with Punjabi film industry. Mel Karade Rabba, Jihne Mera Dil Luteya, Yaar Annmulle, Yaar Annmulle 2 and Pure Punjab are among his major hits in Punjabi cinema, which boosted the film industry a lot. He has spotted and promoted many budding stars of Punjabi film industry like Keeya Khanna and offered her the film ­- Yaar Annmulle 2, which had a delayed release. He has also distributed a few Bollywood films like Heroine, Virudh etc. Batra Showbiz (P) Ltd is his production and distribution company which associated with Kapil Batra Production, Topaz Films and Beatrix Entertainment.

Rajan Batra was born on December 8, 1976, into a Hindu family in Jalandhar, Punjab. His father’s name is M. L. Batra. He was brought up in his hometown where he completed his education. His father was a civil lawyer in district court and his mother, a school principal. Following his father’s footsteps he too completed LLB studies and started his professional career as a lawyer in 2003. He was also associated with various forms of business over the years.

He was also associated with share broking before he ventured to film production in the year 2009. The Punajbi film - Jihne Mera Dil Luteya in 2010 marked his successful debut as a film producer and the movie was a blockbuster. The movie earned Best Film Award at PIFFA. Since then he went on to produce a series of Punjabi hits like Mel Karade Rabba, Pure Punjab, Yaar Annmulle etc and cemented his position as a successful film producer of Punjabi film industry. Viyah 70 km, Mere Yaar Kaminey, Pinky Moge Wali etc are a few more hits.
