Raghuveer (south Indian Actor) Biography

Raghuveer was a South Indian Actor and director, associated with Kannada film industry. He joined film industry in the year 1990 as a film actor, and later directed many movies. He acted and produced Kannada films - Ajay Vijay, Naviloora Naidile, Kaaveri Theeradalli, Shrungaara Kaavya, Thungabhadra, Hongirana, Sangrama and Durga Pooje. Actress Sindhu was his first wife, the daughter of actress Manjula's sister Shyamala. He passed away in 2014 aged only 51. He has done a few Hindi films in the 1970s and 1980s, mostly in uncredited bit roles.

 

Raghuveer was born in the year 1963 into a rich family. He started his film journey as a child artist in Bollywood movies in the second half of 1970s. He was seen in an uncredited role in Rajesh Khanna – Zeenat Aman starrer, Chaila Babu released in 1977, followed by Yaadgaar and Chameli Ki Shaadi in the 1980s. His name was credited as Raghubir in his early releases. They were bit roles with less significance. His actual debut happened with Kannada films in the year 1990, when he was launched in lead hero role through the movie, Ajay Vijay. Since then he carried out the roles of actor, director and producer, and he tasted both success and failures through his films. As an actor, he shot to fame with 1990 movie, Chaitrada Premanjali produced by him. The movie marked the beginning of S. Narayan’s career as a director.

 

He married Kannada actress Sindhu, his heroine and co-star of the movies, Chaitrada Premanjali and Shrungara Kaavya. However the marriage ended in a divorce, and she remarried in 2003. She passed away two years later. The couple had one daughter from their first marriage. Raghuveer too remarried to his relative, Gowri, as wished by his parents, but only after the death of Sindhu. Due to the problems in his personal life, he stayed away from limelight for around 14 years and returned only in 2009. He died of heart attack in 2014, aged only 51.
