Raghu Ram Biography

Raghu Ram is a former senior supervising producer who currently is the executive producer associated with MTV. He is better known as a reality television host. Currently he serves as the executive producer of reality television shows MTV Roadies and MTV Splitsvilla, and has earlier served as a senior supervising producer. He is an entrepreneur who wons 'Monozygotics'. He is married to noted film actress - Sugandha Garg of ‘Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na’ fame. He has one twin brother - Rajiv Laxman who has been associated with Raghu for the MTV Roadies show since 2001.

 

Raghu Ram was born in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He has one identical twin - Rajiv Laxman who is also into the television line. His father was a banker while his mother, a journalist and both the kids were raised in Delhi. They have a younger sister Supriya Nistala who is currently settled in Singapore with her husband and kid. The brothers schooled at Uttarakhand and later studied at University of Delhi in Delhi and finally completed graduation from Osmania University in Hyderabad.

 

In 2004, he appeared as a contestant for India’s first reality singing talent hunt show – Indian Idol, which he later admitted that it was a prank. His wife and one of his friends were working as moderators for the show who insisted him to do the prank. He along with his brother Rajiv and Ranvijay Singh hosted the successful show on MTV - MTV Roadies. In 2013, he published his autobiography titled Rearview: My Roadies Journey. Ram started his career with MTV as a VJ for the show - MTV Love Line with Malaika Arora Khan and Cyrus Broacha, followed by MTV Select and MTV Super Select with VJ Nikhil Chinapa. However his experimental project – MTV Roadies became a super hit.
