Raghav Bahl Biography

Raghav Bahl is an Indian businessman who owns some television channels including TV 18. He also directs the works of CNBC Awaaz, Nickelodeon, TV 18 and Colors.

 

He completed his schooling at St. Xavier’s School at Delhi. He completed graduation in Economics from St. Stephens College and his Masters degree in Business Administration at FMS Delhi. He also got the honorary doctors degree from Amity University at Uttar Pradesh in 2011.

 

He entered media industry in 1985 and has more than 25 years of experience in media, entertainment and journalism. He worked with the A. F. Ferguson & Company as Management Consultant. He started his media career as an anchorperson for Doordarshan and founded TV 18 in 1993.

 

He serves as the Member of Board of Directors at Television Eighteen Mauritius Limited, BK Media Mauritius and Network 18 Holdings and as a Non Executive Director of Informedia Press Limited. He is also a Member of the World Economic Forum. He has penned many articles for The Times of India, The Pioneer and The Statesman.

 

He won the Sanskriti Award for Journalism in 1994 and was named by Ernst & Young as the Business Transformation Entrepreneur of the Year 2007. The World Economic Forum honored him as the Global Leader of Tomorrow.

 

He has written a book Super Power? The Amazing Race Between China’s Hare and India’s Tortoise comparing the countries India and China. He has received AIMA award for the Media Person of the Year 2011.
