Radhika Rao (actress) Biography

Radhika Rao is a south Indian actress who appears in Kannada serials and Tulu movies. She gained recognition as a television actress, and is best known for her performance in the Kannada TV Serial “Hudgi Hubli Hudga”. She also appeared in Tamil television series, Ponnukku Thanga Manasu. She also acted in two Tulu films – Yesa and Pudargonji Budedi. Though she is a fashion designer by academics, she chose acting as her career.

Radhika Rao was born on 25th February 1996 to Rajgopal and Vijayalakshmi in Bangalore, Karnataka. She belongs to a Brahmin family. Her mother is a homemaker. She completed her graduation in Fashion Designing from Karavali College, Mangalore. She started her professional career at the age of 17. She made her acting debut in the Tulu movie Yesa. She later appeared in one more Tulu movie Pudargonji Buded released in 2018. Both movies belong to comedy genre. She also appeared in popular Kannada serial Hudugi Hubli Huduga in which she played the role of a Mangalorean girl doing her internship in Bangalore.

Her appearance in this Kannada show made her immensely popular, and helped her to bag lead role in Tamil TV soap, Ponnukku Thanga Manasu. The show aired its first episode on 20 August 2018 in Vijay TV. Currently she is gaining popularity among Tamil TV viewers. She plays the female protagonist - Divya Prashanth MLA in this show. The show also stars popular actors - Ashwin, Chitra Shenoy, Chaya Singh and K. S. G. Venkatesh.

She is associated with entertainment industry since 2016. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. Apart from acting, Photography, Shopping and Dancing are her favourite hobbies. Deepika Padukone, Radhika Pandit and Genelia D’Souza are her favourite actresses.
