Radha Saluja Biography

Radha Saluja is an Indian actress who worked in Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu and Tamil Cinema during 1970’s. She played lead role in many of her movies and was quite successful too. She is the elder sister of famous and talented editor late Renu Saluja, winner of 4 national awards. Morni (1972), Haar Jeet (1972) and Ek Mutthi Aasmaan (1973) are her noted movies. At present she resides in US. Similar to her sister, she is also a former student of FTII, Pune. Her real name is Ritu Saluja and she entered film field with her real name. Later she changed it to Radha Saluja.

Radha Saluja entered movies during early 1970’s with her real name, Ritu Saluja. Though a few, she worked in 4 languages and has done playback singing for a single song in her career too. She has acted in 24 movies total. Her most popular Hindi movie is Sazaaye Maut directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, released in 1981. Popular songs like Chanda o chanda and Mujhe meri biwi se bachao have been pictured on this actress. She has been frequently paired with Kiran Kumar and Anil Dhawan.

She debut Hindi in the year 1971 with two movies – Do Raha and Lakhon mein ek. In her debut movie Do raha, she was paired with Anil Dhawan. Later she acted in Bollywood movies like Jeevan Sangram (1974), Ek Mutthi Aasmaan (1973), Aaj Ki Taaza Khabar (1973), Jai Dwarkadheesh (1977), Abhi To Jee Lein (1977), Sazaye Maut (1981) and Razia Sultan (1983). Punjabi movie – Morni was one of her earliest hits. She has been paired opposite MGR in Tamil movie, Idayakkani (1975) and later she appeared in Indrupol Endrum Vaazhga and Nenjil Aadum Poo Ondru. She was paired opposite Rajinikanth in Telugu movie, Tiger.
