Radha Mohan Biography

Radha Mohan is a south Indian film director known for the classic Tamil hits – Mozhi and 'Abhiyum Njaanum'. Most recently he has announced a Malayalam project with Prithviraj and Keerthi Suresh in the lead roles. Radha is known for giving Prithviraj him one of the big breaks to Tamil movies through Mozhi (2007), and he was paired with Jyothika in this classic hit, the last movie signed by the actress before her retirement. Mozhi is the first Tamil film receiving the fastest launch in the home video market. This director is known for his association with National award winning actor Prakash Raj in all his 6 released movies up-to-date. He is to direct the south Indian version of Bollywood blockbuster Queen in 4 languages. The movie is financed by Thyagarajan.

 

Abhiyum Naanum released in 2008 is his second noted work, for which he received Tamil Nadu state award for best director. The movie starred Prakash Raj, Trisha Krishnan, Ganesh Venkatraman and Aishwarya Sivachandran in the lead roles. In 2011, he made the bilingual Payanam (Gaganam) which starred Nagarjuna Akkineni in the lead role. Gouravam, Azhagiya Theeye and Ponniyin Selvan are his other releases. He chooses the actors as per the script demands.

 

He was born in 20 November 1965. He currently resides in Chennai. His first movie Smile Please, which he made in 1996 with Prakash raj in the lead role, got shelved. The movie was not completed. Yet he has been associated with Prakash in all his movies later, who has financed a few of his movies as well. Most of his movies have been critically acclaimed and box-office hits. Mozhi and Payanam are his biggest hits. He has worked under R. V. Udayakumar as an assistant and Azhagiya Theeye in 2004 marked his directorial debut.
