Rachana Narayanankutty Biography

Rachana Narayanankutty is a popular television and film actress from Kerala. She is equally successful as a television anchor. She became a household name through the television series 'Marimayam’. She debut big screen playing supporting role in Jayaram starrer Theerthadanam in 2001. Lucky Star, released in 2013 marked her debut as the lead actress, again opposite Jayaram. She played supporting roles in 2013 blockbusters like Punyalan Agarbattis and Amen. Vallatha Pahayan and 101 Chodyangal were her other 2013 releases.

She was born in Thrissur on 4 April 1983. Her parents are Narayanankutty and Narayani. She has one elder brother – Rajnikanth. Rachana completed her schooling from GGHS Wadakanchery in 1998, followed by her graduation from Sri Vyasa NSS College. She appeared in a single episode of television series – Marimayam. But the role was appreciated and hence her role was retained in the tele-series. She married Arun Sadasivan in January 2011, but filed a divorce the following year. She took training in dancing before entering television. She also worked as a teacher in Devamatha school of Thrissur main town.

She debut big screen in 2001 doing a bit role in Theerthadanam. It was followed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Nizhalkoothu and Sonu Sivapal’s Kalachakram in supporting roles. Then she continued her studies and also entered the world of radio as a radio jockey. She started her career as an RJ, at Radio Mango Thrissur, from where she was spotted and casted for Marimayam. Later she appeared in many television ads and anchored the comedy show - Comedy Festival in Mazhavil manorama. Currently she is a celebrity judge of Asianet’s reality show named Comedy Express.
