Prem Rakshith Biography

Prem Rakshith is an Indian choreographer associated with south Indian movies. He predominantly works with Telugu film industry and has choreographed some wonderful dance numbers. He is a recipient of Filmfare and Nandi awards multiple times. He also staged various performances and has worked with almost all leading stars of Telugu film industry. Veeram (Tamil) and 1 (Telugu), both released in 2014 are his recent choreographed works. Maryada Ramanna, Yamadonga, Magadheera, Billa, Hero, Ready,  Simha, 100% Love, Kantri, Badrinath, Arya 2 and Azhagiya Tamil Magan are his best known works.

He is a recipient of state awards twice. He received Nandi Award for Best Choreographer in the years 2008 and 2010 for the movies, Kantri and Adhurs respectively. He received Filmfare Awards South four times for the years – 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011 for the movies, Azhagiya Tamil Magan and Yamadonga, Kantri, Aryua 2 and Badrinath respectively. Yamadonga earned Cine MAA Awards in 2007 and Kantri Takkari received Santhosham award in 2008.

Prem developed passion towards dance since his childhood days. He studied at dance classes during his school period and started his career in the year 1993 as an assistant under different choreographers belonging to both Tamil and Telugu film industry. He also performed live for many stage shows and also did choreography for stage shows.

His major break to movies happened in the year 2007 when the Telugu film director Raj Mouli gave him a big break in the form of Yamadonga. He choreographed a couple of songs for the movie and both turned to be major hits establishing him as a choreographer. Since then he is associated with both Telugu and Tamil projects.
