Prejish Prakash Biography

Prejish Prakash is a successful film editor associated with Malayalam film industry. Apart from movies, he is also into advertising field, and has been associated with documentary films, short films, corporate videos, trailers etc. He started off his career in 2013 with highly acclaimed children’s film, Philips and the Monkey Pen, and later worked for the films, Vedivazhipadu, Raktharakshassu 3D, 1 by Two and Avarude Raavukal. He is a well-known name in the advertising field. Since 2009 he has worked as Promo Editor & Associate Editor before he did his first full length feature film in 2013.

Prejish Prakash hails from Pathanamthitta, Kerala. He was born in the year 1986. He took graduation in in Multimedia from St Joseph College of Communication before he started his professional career. The following year, in 2008 he started his professional career as a video editor in Yes indiavision Satellite Communications. His passion in movies prompted him to join the film industry very soon.

He learnt the primary lessons of editing from film director Arun Kumar Aravind, who was earlier into the editing field. He also worked as an assistant under him for Priyadarshan’s Bollywood film, Khatta Meetta in 2010. Arun Kumar Aravind is known for his successful Bollywood career in association with Priyadarshan for many years.

Apart from working as an assistant in films in the late 2000s and early 2010s, he got associated with documentary film editing too. "Water Whatever" is one of his major documentary works, which become an official selection of the Stockholm Project Green festival. "After Life" directed by Sanjeev Sivan is yet another documentary work. He became a full-fledged film editor with the film, Philips and the Monkey Pen in 2013 and earned recognition as a successful editor. Avarude Raavukal is his most work in Malayalam cinema.
