Pratik Gandhi Biography

Pratik Gandhi is a noted young actor associated with Gujarati cinema, called Dhollywood. He is also associated with Gujarati Theater. He is married to television and theatre actress Bhamini Oza in 2009 and the couple has one daughter born in 2014, the same year he made his magic debut in Gujarati cinema. Made his film debut with 2006 English film - Yours Emotionally and in 2014 made his Gujarati film debut through Bey Yaar, which celebrated golden jubilee at theaters. This coming-of-age Gujarati film was directed by Abhishek Jain and Pratik played the parallel lead aside Divyang Thakkar, the movie which also starred Darshan Jariwala, Manoj Joshi, Kavin Dave, Samvedna Suwalka and Amit Misra. Pratik played the role of Tapan (Tino) in this film. The movie received positive reviews and was a box office hit.

Pratik is a noted theater artist too, who has played the lead role of Mahatma Gandhi for the play, Mohan No Masalo. He played the lead role of Chandrakant Bakshi in the play, Hu Chandrakant Bakshi. He has been a part of Gujarati play, Saat Teri Ekvees and Hindi play, Mere Piya Gaye Rangoon. Pratik Gandhi studied at Pravritti Vidyalaya, Surat, where he got involved with theatre since his college days. He completed his Engineering degree and also joined corporate sector, and worked in theatre in parallel.

The budding star of Gujarati film industry got his big break to Gujarati films through the successful film - Bey Yaar in 2014. He played the lead role on the movie, which completed 50 weeks in theatres. The movie became the first Gujarati movie to be screened at New York Indian Film Festival in 2014. The actor has spent more than one decade in the theater field and Hu Chandrakant Bakshi is his latest play.
