Prastuti Parashar is a film and stage actress, belonging to Assamese. She belongs to Jorhat, Assam and one of the most popular actresses of Assam at present. Maharathi, Tumi Mur Mathu Mur, Asene Kunuba Hiyat, Priya O Priya, Aai Maram Tumar Babe, Gun Gun Gane Gane, Jakham, Prem Aru Prem, Jivan Nabir Duti Par, Suren Suror Putek, Barood, Rang, Dinabandhu and Raamdhenu are her Assamese movies. She was nominated as the best actress at Moonlight Awards for the year 2008.

 

She was born in Jorhat, Assam on December 15, 1981. Her education was completed at her hometown itself. She studied at Jorhat Balya Bhavan. She then completed her B.A at Handique Girls College. She was a bright student during her academic years and wanted to become an engineer. But destiny was something else and she became an actress. She was a tomboy during her school days and her favourite hero is Shah Rukh Khan. She loves painting. Her first acting experience was at the age of 5 for the serial named "Barnali".

 

Her first released movie was Maharathi. "Tumi Mur Mathu Mur", "Aasene Kunuba Hiyat", "Suren Suror Putek", "Aei morom Tumar Babe" and "Rang" are her blockbuster hits. Prastuti has also appeared in many Assamese television serials. Barnali, Nisar Nayak, Chakrabehu, Mahanagarh, Jonakat Siharan, Major Sahab and Bindass are the television serials in which she acted. She has also acted in many plays like Rupalim, Nimati Koina, Aparahna, Asankar Din Rati, The Bear, Sapunar Brindaban and Astarag. According to her, acting is her first love. She was paired opposite Jatin Bora in the blockbuster hit – Raamdhenu. It was a romantic drama directed by Munin Barua. This leading pair has worked in hit movie - Suren Suror Putek too.
