Pramod Madhwaraj Biography 
Pramod Madhwaraj is an Indian politician from the state of Karnataka who currently serves as a member of Karnataka legislative assembly. He serves as the Minister of State for Fisheries, Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka during 2016 – May 2018. He is the son of known politician, Manorama Madhwaraj. He belongs to Indian National Congress and is currently serving his first term in legislative assembly. He was inducted into the Siddaramaiah led government in June 2016. He was the 10th richest minister across India right now, who represented Udupi Assembly Constituency of Udupi district in the last election.
Pramod Madhwaraj was born in the year 1969 into a family with cross links to politics in Udipi. Manorama Madhwaraj, his mother was the first woman cabinet minister of India, and she served three terms as MLA. She was also member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India, and represented Congress party. Following his mother’s footsteps Pramod Madhwaraj too reached politics and is currently serving as a member of Indian National Congress. His father was also into politics. Pramod’s education was done at Udupi. Pramod Madhwaraj is married to Supriya Madhwaraj and has one daughter.
It is not Pramod’s first stint with politics. He has unsuccessfully contested 2008 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election. But he lost to BJP candidate by around 2500 votes. In the following 2013 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election Madhwaraj won the seat by defeating BJP candidate. He lost the seat again in 2018 elections. He lost to K. Raghupati Bhat of the Bharatiya Janata Party by about 2000 votes. M. Madhwaraj Charitable Trust is named after his father and Pramod serves as its trustee right now.
