Prakash Bare Biography

Prakash Bare is a Malayalm film producer and actor who made his acting debut through critically acclaimed movie, Sufi Paranja Katha in 2010. After that he has regularly appeared in several appreciated works on Malayalam screen. Oraalppokkam is his upcoming movie, where he is paired with noted English poet Meena Kandasamy. This movie marks the acting debut of this social activist cum poetess. It is the first Malayalam movie produced through online Crowd funding program. Mazhaneerthullikal, Nayana and Kukkilyar are other upcoming projects. Oru Indian Pranayakatha, Prabhuvinte Makkal, Papilio Buddha, Arike, Ithra Mathram, Ivan Megharoopan, Akam and Friday are noted film appearances.

 

He originally belongs to Yekkar village in Mangalore. He was brought up in Kasargod, Kerala. At present he lives in Bangalore. He completed Master’s in Microelectronics from IIT Kanpur. Then he worked in IT industry for 15 long years in Silicon Valley, California. Later he attended a short-term course in FTII Pune and entered Malayalam film industry. Currently he is associated as an IT professional and entrepreneur in technology industry, apart from being a film producer and actor.

 

He produced a Malayalam play "Godoye Kaathu" in 2010 where he performed the lead role of Vladimir too. He made his big screen debut through Sufi Paranja Katha in 2010 which marked the Malayalam debut of actress, Sharbani Mukherjee too. He played the lead role of a Muslim, Mammootty who elopes with a rich Hindu girl. He also played the lead role in the latest Malayalam release - Papilio Buddha, which invited a lot of controversies due to the theme chosen. The story about dalits was first denied censor certification by CBFC.
