Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu Biography 
Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu is a chess player from Delhi. He is the second youngest grandmaster in chess history, who achieved this feat in 2018 at the age of 13, only after Sergey Karjakin of Russia who laid the record in 1990. He is the youngest Indian chess player to get grandmaster title. World’s youngest to achieve the norm at the age of 10 years 9 months, he is a child prodigy. He has won many Indian and international titles for India, and one of the most promising young chess players from the country. When he received GM title in 2018 and made it to history, India’s record was previously held by Parimarjan Negi.
Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa was born on 10th August 2005 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It took Praggnanandhaa just 10 years and nine months to achieve the IM title, creating history in the field of chess. He received the first two norms earlier in the year 2016 at events in Cannes and Moscow. At the KIIT International Open held at Bhubaneswar, the pre-teen achieved the third and final norm, coupled with his ELO rating of over 2400 to grant him the IM title. He broke the 27-year-old record of Judit Polgar, a famous woman player of all time, who was just 11 when she became IM.
A chess prodigy, experts draw many similarities with his contemporary Nihal Sarin, who also is a prominent name of this field right now. He displays a degree of calmness when approaching the game, and with it, an unprecedented willingness to learn. He achieved his first grandmaster norm at the World Junior Chess Championship in November 2017. The 12-year old defeated Wesley So in a four game rapid match in 2018 claiming Grandmaster title. His elder sister, Vaishali Rameshbabu is also a chess player.
