Pooja Kanwal Biography

Pooja Kanwal is an actress most popular for playing lead role in television series, Palampur Express. She has also acted in a Hindi movie titled Oranges and one Punjabi film. She is the daughter of talented theatre and film personality - Anita Kanwar of Doordarshan Serial – Buniyaad fame. Pooja stepped out of the popular television show, Palampur Express, just before her marriage with Avinash Mehtani, a Bandra based jeweler. They tied knot on 6 November 2009. Uuf Kya Jadoo Mohabbat Hai, Jawani Zindabaad, Mein Ek Din Laut Kay Aaoon Ga, Seven O' Clock and Tirupathi are her other film appearances.

She played the role of Disha in Sasural Genda Phool, Rashmi in Na Bole Tum... Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Simran Kaur in Hum Ne Li Hai – Shapath and Sanskaar - Dharohar Apno Ki (season 2) as deepika. It was her lead role in Palambur Express through which she became a popular actress. Ajay Singh Chaudhary played the lead role of her childhood friend and love interest in this popular television series telecasted on Sony entertainment television. She’s replaced by Akangsha Rawat of Solhah Singgarr fame, soon after her exit from Palambur Express. She quit the show as her marriage dates collided with serial episode shooting and in the tight time schedule, she decided to quit.

Her family has been regular visitors to Avinash’s jeweler shop. Pooja used to try rings at his shop and during this time, Avinash got time to talk with her. Gradually their friendship turned to relationship and both decided to get married. Though she took a temporary break from television industry soon after marriage, she resumed it soon.
