Pooja Chitgopekar Biography

Pooja Chitgopekar is a very successful Indian model, who became Miss India Earth 2007 and represented India in the International Miss Earth 2007 beauty pageant held at Philippines. She was crowned the title - Miss Earth Air (Equivalent to first runner-up). Thus India retained the same title, as the same title was received by Miss India Earth 2006 Amruta Patki the previous year. Indeed a great achievement to Indian fashion industry! After a successful modelling career, she completed Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery commensurate with MD from the University of Auckland in 2011 and she is currently pursuing a career in Dermatology. She is married to Vikram Kumar, Vice Chairman of AVG Advanced Technologies Chicago since 2011.

Pooja Chitgopekar, an Indian was born in Manchester, England. She studied at Diocesan School For Girls in Auckland, one of the top private schools. She started off her modelling career at a younger age, and a trained jazz ballet dancer too. She won Miss India New Zealand 2002 title when she was only 16. Motivated by the success of Indian contestants at international beauty events and contests, she moved to India. She was pursuing her MBBS from the University of Auckland when she took part in Miss India Contest. She dreamt to become a pediatric then, as she loved kids a lot. She was associated with a campaign called Kidshine in New Zealand, a counseling programme for children. She is a New Zealand citizen.

She participated in Miss India contest, 5 years after her win at New Zealand. She was chosen Miss India Earth 2007. Puja Gupta received Miss India Universe title while Sarah Jane Dias won Miss India World title in the beauty pageant. She was crowned by Miss India Earth 2006 Amruta Patki and she represented India at the International Miss Earth 2007 beauty pageant held at Philippines. She was crowned the title - Miss Earth Air by the title holder Amruta Patki once again.
