Pooja Banerjee Biography

Pooja Banerjee is a popular actress associated with Hindi television industry. Her lead role of Rewa Mathur in Channel V India's Swim Team is most memorable. Mostly associated with fantasy series, she was seen in Chandranandini, Nagarjun, Chandra Nandini and The Adventures of Hatim. She made her first appearance on television in Roadies Season 8, aired on MTV India in 2011, where she was one of the finalists. A former national level swimmer, she tied knot with professional swimmer Sandeep Sejwal in 2017.

Pooja hails from Nagpur, Maharashtra. She was born on 8 November 1991. She completed her schooling from Centre Point School and college from Hislop College, and later completed her B. Com and MA English degrees. Pooja is also an athlete, who has also represented Maharashtra at the national level swimming tournaments.  In Channel V’s youth show, Swim Team, she played the lead role of Rewa Mathur which earned her recognition. In 2017 she married professional swimmer Sandeep Sejwal, the Bronze medalist in 2014 Asian games in 50m breast stroke.

Pooja has been a part of several TV shows such as Chandranandini, Maan Na Maan Main Tera Mehmaan, Halla Bol, Nagarjun – Ek Yodha and The Adventures of Hatim. She is currently playing the role of Princess Vishakha/ Vishkanya in the fantasy series, Chandra Nandini. Yet she is best known for the lead role of a swimmer she played in Swim Team. She was also featured in a music video starring Bollywood actor, Govinda.

She has great passion for bikes. The ex-Roadie is a biker at heart. Though it is not a girl thing to ride bikes, she pleaded her friends to teach bike riding. At nights she practised on her brother’s bike, and she took all those efforts to impress boys. Today she owns a bike as well.
