Pitobash Tripathy Biography

Pitobash Tripathy is a Bollywood actor known for supporting roles. One of the latest finds of Bollywood, he has made his mark in almost all the films that he has acted in. His roles are well noticed in the movies – Joker, I Am Kalam and Shor in the City. His role as Mandook (Tusshar Kapoor's friend) in critically acclaimed movie – Shor in the city, released in 2011 is his most noticed work. He played the pivot role of Kachua in Akshay Kumar starrer Joker where he used prosthetic make-up to show a hunchback. He also acted in the anthology film based on Panchatantra – Mirch, where he portrayed 5 different roles in 5 stories. He also played a bit role of a student in legendary movie – 3 Idiots.

 

He belongs to Nayagarh, Odisha. Pitobash was brought up in Bhubaneswar. He was born as the youngest of 6 siblings. His father worked for the Agriculture department and his mother was a school teacher. His brother T. Hrusikesh is a noted personality in Oriya literature and television. He completed his engineering degree from Government College of Engineering & Leather Technology, Kolkata in 2005. After graduation he took a diploma from Film and Television Institute of India and joined film industry. Before that he was associated with theatre since 2007.

 

He made his Bollywood debut through ‘99’ and 3 Idiots in 2009, where he appeared in bit roles. I am Kalam was his first breakthrough performance and there is no turning back after that point. His role as Laptan in the movie was the turning point of his career. He has also done brief roles in Aalap, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara! and Shaangai. He received Screen award for best comedian for the movie, Shor in the City.
