Pawan Kripalani is a successful Bollywood director and screenwriter known for horror thrillers. He made his film debut with the horror thriller – Ragini MMS, an experimental film on low budget which became a box office hit. It was probably the first Indian film belonging to found footage category and is partly based on the real story of a girl from Delhi. His love for supernatural and psychological horror thrillers prompted him to direct Darr @ the Mall (2012) and the most recent Phobia (2016), and both the movies received excellent reviews from critics. Since the preview of Phobia is released the director is in spotlight and is praised for the wonderful work for Phobia. Radhika Apte plays the key role in this psychological thriller.

Pawan Kripalani has worked as an assistant director of Ram Gopal Varma before he made his first film. He got his first break given by Ekta Kapoor, an experimental horror thriller - Ragini MMS, a movie shot in found footage and it fared well at box office too. The movie starred Kainaz Motivala and Rajkummar Rao playing the lead roles. With less-budget film with less known actors became a huge hit at box office. Critics were also impressed by the theme and direction.

After a break of almost three years, he returned back in 2012 with another horror film - Darr @ the Mall. The movie too was well received by critics, though it fared moderate on box office. Phobia (2016) is his best work up-to-date. Radhika Apte played the role of an agoraphobic in this film, and this movie is regarded to be her best performance up-to-date. The movie was released with zero censor cuts. Now he is working with his next project on pouching, and the movie titled 'Blue Blood', is about a royal family in Rajasthan and the extensive poaching of endangered species in the state.
