Pawan Kalra Biography

Pawan Kalra is a voice over and dubbing artist from Indian entertainment industry. He has voice-dubbed many foreign media into Hindi, and also regional films and documentaries. Official Hindi voice-dubbing artist for Arnold Schwarzenegger in India, Pawan predominantly dubs into Hindi language, that too from Hollywood films. He is fluent in both English and Malayalam. He currently works for Sugar Mediaz. Bruce Lee, Eddie Murphy, Will Smith and Owen Wilson are other international celebrities for whom Pawan frequently dubs to Hindi. His elder brother Pankaj Kalra too is an established dubbing artist of the industry.

He was born in Mumbai on 1 November 1972. He was introduced to the world of dubbing by his elder brother, Pankaj Kalra who has already found his foot in dubbing industry. At first he was mostly associated with children’s shows and children channels, and dubbed for Discovery, Cartoon Network, Pogo, Nickelodeon and Disney Channel, quite popular among children. Later he moved towards Hollywood projects, where he is currently busy. Many of his dubbed programs on kids’ popular channel Pogo are indeed popular still now.

His first experience with dubbing was for kid’s show, Pokémon. It is more than 7 years now since Kalra has been associated with Indian dubbing field and now one of the leading names. He dubbed for Bob for the TV show, Bob the Builder. English show Power Rangers Light speed Rescue and Turkish, Adını Feriha Koydum are among his live action television shows. Regarded as the ghost voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger in Hindi films, he dubbed for The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, True Lies etc. He has also dubbed for south Indian flicks, mostly associated with character roles; for movies - Sarrainodu, Maari, Doosukeltha, Dynamite etc – to mention a few.
