Parvin Dabas Biography

Parvin Dabas is an actor and director of Bollywood. He is a successful model also. He has appeared in supporting roles in movies of late 90’s, 2000’s and still active in the industry. He hails from Delhi and made his debut with Dillagi in 1999 and has shown his screen presence for the movies - The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, Monsoon wedding, Yeh Mera India, The World Unseen, Wrong number, Tapish, The Perfect Husband, Yehi Hai Zindagi, My name is Khan, Khosla Ka Ghosla, Sirf, Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara, Jalpari, Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande, Muskaan and Via Darjeeling. His role in My name is Khan (2010) as Bobby Ahuja is one of his memorable performances in the recent times. Parvin married fellow actress Preeti Jhangiani on 23 March 2008. He is also a trained scuba diver and underwater photographer. His directorial debut - Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande released on 19 August 2011 won a bronze palm award at the 2011 Mexico international film festival.

He has also acted in Malayalam flick for children - Ayyappantamma Neyyappam Chuttu in the year 2000 directed by Lal. It was his second movie, following Dillagi in which he has done a bit role. It was his first full fledged role in a movie. He, along with Antara Mali played the role of separated parents and how the kid Master Paul helps his friend Rohan Pentar to unite his parents is the real story of the movie.  

Though Dillagi is his debut movie, it was Mira Nair’s Monsoon wedding through which he got noticed. Then he has appeared in about 10 films of Bollywood. Though he has appeared in a few movies as an actor, it was his directorial venture ‘Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande’ that brought him real appreciation. In 2005, he made a guest appearance in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai TV serial aired on STAR One.
