Paridhi Sharma Biography

Paridhi Sharma is an Indian television actress who shot to fame after playing the female protagonist in Jodha Akbar. She portrayed the title role of Queen Jodha in historic epic. Tere Mere Sapne and Ruk Jaana Nahin are her other popular television roles. Most recently in April 2014, she shocked the television world by stating that the periodic show’s director Santram Verma has sexually abused her. It was not for the first time such a complaint was raised against the television director. Ankita Dubey was an actress who came up with a complaint of the director and accused him of harassing her. She played Jodha’s friend in the serial and it even resulted in the walk out of 90 people last year because of Santram's behaviour.

Sharma was born in Bagh, Madhya Pradesh. She completed graduation in business from Prestige Institute of Management and Research Indore and MBA from Pune. She began her acting career in 2010. Tere mere sapne marked her television debut. She played the role of Rani, who disguises herself as Meera to enter the family. It was one of the pivot roles of the serial and the lead roles were played by Ekta Tiwari, Saurabh Pandey and Yash Pandit. Her second appearance was for ‘Ruk Jaana Nahin’ aired on Star Plus in 2011.

Yet it was the title role of Jodha Akbar which earned her instant success and fame. But the allegations over its director have resulted in pulling off the show from air in July 2014. As per sources, Paridhi Sharma has signed Ekta Kapoor's next show for Colors. The show is titled as Meri Aashiqui Tumhi Se Hai, where Sharma plays parallel lead. She prefers choosing costumes with which she feels comfortable. Shweta Krishna Choudhary is her personal designer. She is married to Tanmai Saksena, an Ahmedabad-based non-industry guy and this news has been kept secret for the past two years.
