Pappu Venugopala Rao Biography 
Pappu Venugopala Rao is an educationist, scholar and renowned musicologist from the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. He is also a well-known writer and he specializes in Telugu and Sanskrit literature. He is interested in writing on Music, Culture and spiritual subjects. He performed 'Ashtavadhanam' about twenty times in Telugu and Sanskrit languages. He has delivered about 100 lectures on literature and also about 50 Lecture Demonstrations on various topics on Music & Kuchipudi Dance with Vempati Chinna Satyam in India and other foreign nations across the globe.
Pappu Venugopala Rao was born in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh in year 1948. He studied different languages during his academic years, and took doctorate in Telugu and Sanskrit languages. Now he is one of the senior-most Indian scholars of both these languages as well as music, and his lectures over these subjects are popular. He began his career as a Lecturer in Telugu at Mrs. AVN College, Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. He joined American Institute of Indian Studies in year 1980, and worked there for many years till his retirement as Associate Director General for the Southern Indian region in 2008. Now also he offers his services to the institute as a consultant.
Apart from writings and delivering speeches and lectures, he continues with his research works on music and languages too. He serves as a columnist, editor and book reviewer at various publications. Apart from publishing books, he also co-ordinates dance dramas. Science of Sri Chakra, Bhuvana Vijayam, Bhagavata Katha Sudha in three volumes, Bhagavata Tattvamu – Manavattvamu etc are among his published non-fiction and research works. He holds many honorary titles like Sangeetha Saastra Visaarada, Sangeeta Saastra Siromani, Kalavipanchi etc.
