Pallavi Arun Biography

Pallavi Arun is a Kannada Sugama Sangeetha Singer and Hindustani vocalist from Karnataka. She is also a playback singer, dubbing artist, actor and TV anchor who has won Karnataka state award for best playback singer for the song "Nodayya Kwate Lingave" sung for the 2007 film Duniya. She has been active in playback singing since early 2000. She has worked as a dubbing artist for Kannada movies  of which her noted works include - Edegarike,Aa Dinagalu,Aishwarya and Meera Madhadava Raghava.

 

Pallavi started training in Hindustani classical, before entering playback field. She trained Hindustani music under Pandit Rajbhau Sontakke from Bangalore. Later she learnt Sugama Sangeeth under late Mysore Ananthaswamy and Raju Ananthaswamy. She was also active in theater during her initial career. She has been activ in theatre workshops and the production department of street plays and has also acted in stage plays, including Hamlet, Maanishaadha, Fire and Rain, Balidaana, My Fair Lady and Gaajina Gombegalu, Vakra, and Good Woman of Schezuan. She worked for her grandfather, A. S. Murthy. Later she also worked in the production department for a few television serials.

 

She acted in the television shows Mayamruga and Garva. She has also won the Aryabhatta "Best Actress" award. She has been a part of the production team of National award winning English language film Stumble. She worked in script and direction and was also a member of film cast. Gulabi Talkies – is another noted critically acclaimed movie, where she appeared in character role. As a dubbing artist, she is mostly known as the voice actor of Daisy Bopanna. She dubbed for Daisy for the movies - Aishwarya, Satyavan Savitri, Rama Shama Bhama, Bimba and others.
