P.S. Jayakumar Biography

P. S. Jayakumar the 53 years old Chartered Accountant from the private sector banking services has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director of Bank Of Baroda, India's second-biggest state-run bank. Mr. P. S. Jayakumar, also known as Jaya, has been Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer of Value Homes Pvt. Ltd. the VBHC Value Budget Housing. Mr. Jayakumar also served as Head of Balance Sheet optimisation. He has also worked as consumer banking head of Citibank for twenty Three years.

Jayakumar started his career with Citibank in 1986 and has held many senior management positions at Citi including, Country Head for Consumer Business in India and Head-Consumer Lending in Asia Pacific and the Far East. During his banking career spanning 24 years, he has contributed significantly to the development of the retail banking industry in India. The inclusion of Jaikumar is under the Government's 7-point plan to revive Public Sector Banks that might inject Rs. 20,000 cr within a month into the Indian market.

P. S. Jayakumar is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also a Gurukul Chevening Scholar from the London School of Economics and Political Science (1998). He holds a Master's Degree in Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur and a Master's Degree in Commerce from the University of Madras. He was at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Mr. Jayakumar started his career with Citibank in 1986 and has held many senior management positions there, including being Country Head for Consumer Business in India and Asia Pacific and Head for Consumer Lending Business in Asia Pacific. During his banking career, spanning 24 years, Mr. Jayakumar has contributed significantly to the development of the retail banking industry in India. He loves cycling, golf and gardening as hobbies.
