P. S. Sreedharan Pillai Biography

P. S. Sreedharan Pillai is an Indian politician from the state of Kerala. He belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party and currently serves as the state president of the party. He joined the party as a student leader during his academics and is also a renowned lawyer practicing at High Court of Kerala. He was a member of ABVP during his college days, before turning to a prominent figure in BJP within state politics. He was appointed as the State President of Bharatiya Janata Party in Kerala in 2018, and has previously served this position during 2003–2006.

Pillai was born into a Hindu family on 1st December 1953. Venmony of present-day Alappuzha district is his hometown. He was born to V. G. Sukumaran Nair and Bhavani Amma. He got married to advocate Reetha at Kozhikode in 1984. After completing his graduation from Pandalam NSS College, he enrolled for his LLB studies at Calicut Law College. He completed his law studies in 1978 and later had a successful career in this profession. He was the College Magazine Editor during his college days, and it overlaps with the Emergency Period in India. He was also involved with ABVP during those days. Through the magazine, he marked his protest against then ruled Indira Government. It created a lot of buzz that time.

When Bharatiya Janata Party was formed in the 1980s, he joined the party and remained a close associate of the party since then. One of the senior leaders from Kerala involved with the party, he rose to prominence in the 1990s and reached the position of State President of BJP in 2003, a position he served for next three years. Currently he is involved with ’Save Sabarimala Campaign’ within the state.
