Om (bengali Actor) Biography

Om Prakash Sahani, better known as Om is a very popular and budding film actor associated with Bengali entertainment industry. He works in Indian and Bangladeshi films and television shows. As an actor, he is best known for his debut film, Arjun – Kalimpong E Sitaharan directed by the debutant director, Prem Prakash Modi who was known as an actor till then. The movie released in 2013 was opened to mixed reviews. However the movie tagged as an investigation thriller gave Om the recognition he was waiting for. He worked as a model, and also a television actor prior to his entry in film world.

His full name is Om Prakash Sahani and he hails from Kolkata, West Bengal. Om started his professional career through modelling and later forayed into films. He also appeared in numerous TV shows before his debut in 2013. He was a participant of a Reality Show aired on ETV Bangla, Fata Fati Filmy Fight. He gained popularity in television serial Alor Basha. His success in television bagged him the first role in films, Arjun – Kalimpong E Sitaharan. He played the lead role of Arjun – a young detective in this thriller, and shared screen space with prominent actor Sabyasachi Chakraborty, who played his mentor in this film.

After that film offers came pouring in, and he worked in the movies, Angaar, Hero 420 and Prem Ki Bujhini, all released in 2016. Action and Agnee 2 are the movies released prior to it. He mostly appeared in mass entertainers and action thrillers, entertaining youngsters. Agnee 2 released in 2015 was a box office hit. Most of his movies are remakes of successful south Indian flicks. Tui Sudhu Amar and Pashan are his upcoming flicks.
